The origin of Birra Venezia was founded in S. Chiara in 1835 when in Santa Chiara stood the company named Biliotti. This subsequently became the Birra Venezia Factory.
In 1902 it changed into Distilleria Veneziana (Venetian Distillery) and a new factory was built near Fondamenta San Biagio, number 796, following the most modern systems for the industrial of beer, with a structure which seemed to be very similar to the neighbour Molino Stucky.
After a brief closure for the installation of improvements for safety, in 1908 it changed its name to "Società Birra San Marco" and at that time there were 130 employees.
From 1913 the company changed into "Birra Venezia" and for many years produced an important and well known product of Venice, a omnipresent product in the taverns of the city and sponsor for the regattas in the Giudecca Canal, just in front of the factory.
Nowadays, Birra Venezia has returned to its origins and offers a product of artisan quality able to exalt with its rich taste all the aromas and fragrances which make this beer unique, thirst-quenching and able to satisfy all palates.
